Yeungnam University Scholarship 2027 in South Korea

Applications are now open for the Yeungnam University Scholarship 2027 in South Korea. The Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul (PSPS) is offering Master’s degree programs in Saemaul and International Development, Public Policy and Leadership, and Forest and Environmental Policy. The scholarship covers full tuition for all four semesters and the admission fee, and adds a monthly living allowance of KRW 1,000,000 for the first 12 months.

So it is best described as a tuition funded scholarship with a partial living stipend. International applicants can apply, including government officials, professionals, and recent graduates, from any undergraduate major. The scholarship does not cover every expense. Based on the 2026 fee list, which may change for 2027, you should plan for the following:

  • University Health Care Service Fee: KRW 30,500 per semester
  • Private Health Insurance: KRW 100,000 per year (mandatory for international students)
  • National Health Insurance: KRW 80,000 per month (mandatory for international students)
  • Living expenses after the first 12 months
  • Dormitory fees if you choose to live on campus (double room KRW 250,000 per month, single room KRW 500,000 per month, meals KRW 4,000 to 5,500 per meal, refundable deposit KRW 100,000)

General Requirements

  • You hold, or are about to complete, a bachelor’s degree from a regular domestic or international university
  • Or you have a qualification recognized by law as equal to or higher than a bachelor’s degree
  • You can apply regardless of your undergraduate major
  • You are able to attend daytime classes in Korea

Priority for Forest and Environmental Policy

Applicants to this program receive priority if they hold, or expect to hold, a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, agriculture, forestry, environmental engineering, or a related field.

Additional Selection Categories

The selection process also gives consideration to the following:

  • Candidates recommended by the head of a local government or a central administrative agency
  • Candidates recommended by the head of their relevant institution
  • Candidates with official language proficiency test scores above a certain level
  • Candidates recommended by the Park Chung Hee Saemaul Graduate School Steering Committee

Academic Standard to Keep Your Scholarship

You must keep a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.5 and avoid receiving an “F” in any course. Otherwise, you will have to pay 30% of the tuition fee for the next semester.
