CEFIPRA Indo-French Collaborative Scientific Research Programme 2026

Applications are now open for the CEFIPRA Collaborative Scientific Research Programme (CSRP) for the deadline of 31 July 2026. This programme offers funding for joint research projects between Indian and French scientists in multiple fields of basic and applied sciences.

It is a fully collaborative research grant (not a degree scholarship) that provides financial support up to €220,000 for high-quality Indo-French research teams. There is no application fee. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Principal Investigators and Joint Collaborators must hold a permanent position in a university or R&D institution in India or France.
  • Applicants must meet national eligibility criteria related to grants and retirement age.
  • ORCID or ResearcherID is mandatory for proposal submission.
  • Scientists near retirement age should include a younger Joint Collaborator in the team.
  • Only one Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) is allowed per side from the same institution as the Principal Investigator.
  • Previous CEFIPRA project holders must follow cooling-off periods and other restrictions.

  1. Prepare a joint research proposal with one Principal Investigator from India and one from France.
  2. Clearly define the roles and contributions of all team members.
  3. Submit both the Concept Proposal and Full Proposal online through the official CEFIPRA portal.

All proposals go through initial screening, peer review, and final selection by the Joint Indo-French Scientific Committee.
