Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the 2026 Mitacs Globalink Research Internship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master’s program at an eligible institution in one of the following countries/regions: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, or the United States.
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study or be in the second year of your current program (check specific requirements by each country).
- Have 1–3 semesters remaining in your program as of Fall 2026.
- Meet the GPA requirements for your country (see GPA requirements for each international partner).
- Be fluent in the language of the project (English or French).
- Apply to 3–10 projects across at least three different Canadian provinces.
- Be available for the full 12-week internship period.
- Not have previously received a Globalink Research Internship award.
- Not be affiliated with or receiving funding from institutions involved in Sensitive Technology Research Areas (STRA) as defined by Mitacs.

Intern Responsibilities
As an intern, you are expected to:
- Commit to a 12-week internship, working 40 hours per week (typically 9 a.m.–5 p.m., depending on arrangements with your host professor).
- Stay in Canada for the full duration of the internship.
- Notify your host professor if you need to miss time due to illness or Mitacs events.
- Adhere to the program’s Code of Conduct and liability waiver.
- Attend optional industry events, government events, and professional development courses to maximize your experience.
Failure to comply with program policies may result in denial of the certificate of completion or expulsion from the program.
