Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must have above-average academic qualifications
  • You must have completed a Masters degree or Diplom (in exceptional cases a Bachelors degree is accepted)
  • Your latest degree must be completed by the start of the funding period
  • You should not have lived in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application
  • You must secure a doctoral supervisor at a German university or admission to a structured doctoral programme
  • Strong research proposal and clear study plan are required
  • Good knowledge of the working language (German or English) is important
