This is a fully funded fellowship program for professional journalists and independent creator journalists from low and middle income countries.The program gives selected fellows the chance to attend and report on the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Turkiye from November 9 to 20, 2026.
It covers all major costs including travel, accommodation, meals, and insurance. There is no application fee. The fellowship is organized by the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), led by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security. Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a professional journalist or creator journalist from an eligible low or middle income country
- Have experience reporting on climate change issues
- Never have attended any UNFCCC Climate COP in person before
- Be available to travel to Antalya, Turkiye for the full period of November 9 to 20, 2026
- Have good English language skills
- Work with or have commitment from a media outlet that will publish their stories
- Submit a short video, CV, letter of support, and recent climate related work samples
