Eligibility Criteria:

  • Hold a doctoral degree (or have successfully defended their thesis by 31 August 2026) in a relevant field such as electrical engineering, photonics, micro- and nanotechnology, semiconductor physics, advanced materials, or chip design
  • Demonstrate ability to pursue independent scholarly activity
  • Not have resided or carried out their main activity (work or studies) in Finland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the deadline (31 August 2026)
  • Have fluent spoken and written English skills

Position Overview:

Tampere University is recruiting 12 Postdoctoral Research Fellows in next-generation semiconductor technologies.

These are full-time, fixed-term positions for 3 years under the FutureChips Postdoctoral Programme. The roles focus on fundamental technology and methods development for advanced semiconductor solutions.

Positions will be based in either the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences or the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences.

Job Description:

Successful candidates will independently design, coordinate, and carry out their own research projects while publishing results in high-impact scientific venues. The focus is on developing semiconductor technologies and building the related knowledge base.
