JYU Visiting Fellow Programme 2027 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the JYU Visiting Fellow Programme 2027 at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. This short-term research grant gives experienced researchers with a doctoral degree the chance to visit Finland for 1 or 2 months. The programme supports international research collaboration in any academic field.

The grant is partially funded and provides 4,000 euros per month to cover travel and living costs. There is no application fee. Researchers from all nationalities based outside Finland can apply. The deadline to apply is 14 August 2026. You can check out BS, MSPhD and postdoc positions here.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You have a doctoral degree awarded before the visit begins
  • You live and work outside Finland
  • You have a strong track record in research and publications
  • You have excellent English language skills
  • You have secured an invitation from a JYU researcher who agrees to host you
  • You and your host commit to the planned research collaboration

Note: Each JYU host can support only one Visiting Fellow in 2027. Previous recipients can apply again but priority is given to first-time applicants.

  • Curriculum Vitae (with ORCID ID)
  • Invitation letter from JYU host
  • Brief research plan (2 to 3 pages)
  • Full list of publications (highlight up to 5 most relevant)

  2. Prepare the required documents (CV, research plan, publication list, and invitation letter).
  3. Fill out the online application form and submit all documents before the deadline.

Important: Applications without the invitation letter will not be considered.
