UNS Indonesia Scholarships for International Students (Fully Funded)

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Indonesia offers exciting opportunities for international students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees through self-funding or the prestigious UNS Scholarship program.

Scholarship Types

UNS provides two scholarship options for international students:

1. Full Scholarship

  • Tuition Fee Waiver: Full coverage of tuition fees.
  • Monthly Living Allowance:
    • Bachelor’s: IDR 1,500,000
    • Master’s: IDR 1,750,000
    • Doctoral: IDR 2,250,000
  • Free Indonesian Language Course: To help you adapt to life in Indonesia.
  • Health Insurance: Comprehensive coverage during your studies.

2. Partial Scholarship

  • Tuition Fee Waiver: Full coverage of tuition fees.
  • Free Indonesian Language Course: Support for learning the local language.
  • Health Insurance: Ensures your well-being.

Study Programs

Scholarships are available for all study programs, but quotas for the Faculty of Medicine or Medical Sciences are limited.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a non-Indonesian citizen.
  • Be under 24 years old (for Bachelor’s degree applicants).
  • Not hold refugee status or have been convicted of a serious crime.
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency:
    • Minimum TOEFL score: 450 (Science) or 500 (Social Science), or equivalent.
  • Show a strong interest in studying at UNS.
  • Be willing to attend an online interview.
  • Have sufficient financial support (for self-funded applicants).
  • Submit all required documents.

Required Documents

Prepare the following documents for your application:

  • Recent formal photo (JPG/PNG, max. 300 KB).
  • Passport (valid for at least 18 months).
  • Graduation certificate and academic transcript (in English or Indonesian).
  • Recent health certificate (in English or Indonesian).
  • Curriculum Vitae (using UNS template).
  • Financial Statement (using UNS template).
  • Personal Statement (using UNS template).
  • English language proficiency certificate.
  • Indonesian language certificate (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Two recommendation letters (for Master’s and Doctoral applicants only).
  • Preliminary research proposal (for Doctoral applicants only).

Scholarship Duration and Academic Requirements

  • Duration:
    • Bachelor’s: 8 semesters
    • Master’s: 4 semesters
    • Doctoral: 6 semesters
  • Minimum GPA:
    • Social Sciences: 3.00
    • Engineering & Natural Sciences: 2.75

How to Apply

  1. Download the Letter of Offer: Letter of Offer.
  2. Explore Programs: Check available courses and curricula at List of Courses.
  3. Visit the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate: Obtain a recommendation letter by presenting:
    • Letter of Offer from UNS
    • Passport
    • Graduation Certificate
    • Academic Transcript
  4. Register Online:
  5. Selection Process:
    • Administrative screening
    • Initial interview
    • Computer-based test
    • Final interview by the department
  6. Admission Notification:
    • Successful candidates receive a Letter of Acceptance via email.
  7. Confirm and Proceed:
    • Confirm your intent to study at UNS.
    • UNS will apply for your study permit and student visa.
    • Arrive in Indonesia upon official notification.
