Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a national of an ICGEB Member State (exceptions or regional focus in some calls)
  • Cannot apply to undertake the fellowship in their home country (unless they have been working abroad for at least 3 years in some cases)
  • For Postdoctoral: Recent PhD in Life Sciences or at least 3 years research experience (preference under age 35)
  • For Short-term PhD: BSc (Honours) or MSc depending on location
  • Good working knowledge of English (TOEFL, Cambridge, or equivalent; waiver possible with proof)
  • Strong research proposal aligned with an ICGEB Group Leader’s work
  • Endorsement by the national Liaison Officer is usually required
