Eligibility Criteria:

PhD Requirements

  1. Completion Timeline: Must have completed your PhD within the past 5 years OR have official approval to defend your thesis by 1 September 2027
    • For 2027-28: PhD should have been received or submitted between 01/09/2022 and 01/09/2027
    • PhD defence must occur no later than 31/12/2027
  2. Extensions Available: Career breaks due to maternity/paternity leave, illness, or mandatory military service extend the five-year window (provide supporting documents if selected)

English Language Proficiency

  1. Required Level: C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
  2. Proof Options (one of the following):
    • IELTS score of 7.5 or higher
    • TOEFL (IBT) score of 110 or higher
    • Cambridge Proficiency certificate (A, B, or C)
    • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) certificate (A or B)
    • PhD completed in English
    • Published article or book chapter (minimum 6,000 words) in English
    • Postgraduate degree completed in English language programme
    • Native English speakers are exempt from formal proof
