Applications are now open for the MESPOM Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management for the 2027 to 2029 intake. This 24 month, 120 ECTS programme is delivered by four European universities, so you will study in Austria, Greece, Sweden or the UK.
The programme is partially funded: outstanding students can receive partial tuition fee waivers and living stipends. It is open to applicants from all nationalities with a Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or a related field and a minimum GPA of 3.5. The first deadline is January 7, 2027. Eligibility Criteria:
- You can apply from any country.
- You need a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university, with at least 3 years of full time study.
- You can also apply if you will finish your degree before enrolling.
- You need a minimum GPA of 3.5 on the 4.00 American scale. Only your Bachelor’s GPA counts.
- Your degree should be in environmental studies or a closely related field.
- Graduates of other fields can apply if they show commitment to environmental challenges through voluntary or professional work.
- You must prove your English proficiency, unless you qualify for an exemption.
Important: Your GPA will be verified. False information can lead to permanent exclusion from CEU programmes.
English Language Requirements
- TOEFL iBT: 88 (90 for Manchester, with no subtest below 20)
- TOEFL paper based: 570
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 (for Manchester, no subtest below 6.0)
- Pearson Test of English Academic: 59 (70 overall for Manchester, with at least 65 in each component)
- Cambridge English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: 180
- Euroexam Academic: Pass (not accepted for Manchester)
- Duolingo English Test: 125 (not accepted for Manchester)
The CEU TOEFL code is 0069. TOEFL and IELTS must be no older than two years, Pearson and Cambridge no older than five years, and Duolingo no older than one year. If you plan to join the Manchester track, check the University of Manchester’s own language rules, because UK immigration accepts only certain tests.
English Exemption
You may be exempt if English is your first language or if you completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree taught entirely in English. Include a written request in your application. The admissions committee makes the final decision.
