Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility varies slightly by degree level, but common requirements include:

• Be a citizen of a developing country (not Indonesia)
• Meet maximum age limits as of December 31, 2026:
  • Bachelor’s: 21 years old
  • Master’s: 35 years old
  • Doctoral: 40 years old
• Hold the required prior qualification (High School for Bachelor’s; Bachelor’s for Master’s; Master’s for Doctoral). Holders of a higher degree are not eligible for lower levels.
• Demonstrate English proficiency. Exempt if from English-speaking country or English-medium program (provide proof).
• Commit to program rules: No marriage/engagement to Indonesian citizens/residents, no pregnancy, no military service during the period.
• Applicants from/residing in Africa: Provide Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
• Not currently receiving or have received another scholarship conflicting with KNB.
