Applications are invited for the University of Twente admissions to pursue a Master’s degree (MSc) at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, starting September 2026.
After getting conditional offer letter, you can apply for this scholarship. This scholarship offers €3,000 to €22,000 for one year to cover study-related costs, with the possibility of extension for two-year programs if academic requirements are met. It is open to top-performing students (top 5-10% of their graduating class) across various Master’s programs, except those at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC).

Full Scholarship Details
The UTS is designed for academically excellent students from non-EU/EEA countries who wish to join a graduate program at the University of Twente. It offers:
- Financial Support: €3,000 to €22,000 for one year to help cover study-related costs. You decide how to use the funds (e.g., living expenses, books), but tuition fees are not directly covered.
- Exclusive Opportunities: Recipients may participate in one of three honors programs: Research Honours, Design Honours, or Change Leaders.
- Additional Scholarship: Eligible UTS recipients can apply for the Kipaji Scholarship for extra funding (more details below).

Two-Year Master’s Programs
For two-year programs, you may receive an additional UTS award in the second year, equal to the first year’s amount, provided you meet the following requirements by the end of the third quartile of the first year:
- An average grade of 7 out of 10.
- At least 50% of European Credits (EC) earned.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the UTS, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Non-EU/EEA Citizenship: The UTS is exclusively for students from non-EU/EEA countries.
- Academic Excellence: You must be among the top 5-10% of your graduating class at your home university.
- Admission to a UT Master’s Program: You must have a (provisional) admission letter for a qualifying Master’s program starting in September 2026.
- English Language Proficiency:
- Academic IELTS: Overall score of 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT: 90).
- Speaking subscore: 6.0 (or TOEFL iBT: 20).
- Visa Compliance: You must meet the conditions for obtaining a Dutch entry visa (if applicable).
- Not Eligible for Dutch Study Loan: You cannot qualify for Dutch government study financing.
- No Prior UT Degree: You must not have graduated from a University of Twente undergraduate or graduate program.
- Financial Planning: The UTS is not a full scholarship. Ensure you can cover remaining costs (e.g., tuition, living expenses) before applying.

Application Process
Step 1: Apply for a Master’s Program
- Apply for a qualifying Master’s program at the University of Twente for the academic year 2026/2027 (starting September 2026).
- Obtain a (conditional) admission letter. Note: It may take up to 8 weeks to receive admission results.
- You will be assigned a student number upon application.
Step 2: Apply for the UTS
- Use your student number to apply for the UTS separately from your Master’s program application.
- Application deadlines for programs starting in September 2026:
- Round 1: Opens October 15, 2025, 09:00 CET; Closes February 1, 2026, 16:00 CET.
- Round 2: Opens February 1, 2026, 16:00 CET; Closes May 1, 2026, 16:00 CET.
- Note: If your application is rejected in Round 1, you cannot reapply in Round 2. You can only receive one UT scholarship.
