UMS Indonesia Scholarship (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the UMS International Priority Scholarship at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), a prestigious opportunity for international students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees in fields such as Communication, Informatics, Economics, Engineering, Health, Islamic Studies, Law, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Education. This scholarship, available in Fully Funded and Partially Funded schemes, supports talented students worldwide with tuition waivers, living allowances, and more. Eligible applicants include high school graduates (for Bachelor’s), Bachelor’s degree holders (for Master’s), and Master’s degree holders (for Doctoral), with no application fee required.     • Doctoral: Max 35 years, Master’s degree, English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL ITP ≥530).

Bachelor’s Program

  • Age: Maximum 25 years old.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent (in English or Bahasa Indonesia). Bachelor’s degree holders are not eligible.
  • English Proficiency (within the last 2 years):
    • TOEFL ITP: ≥477
    • TOEFL IBT: ≥53
    • IELTS: ≥5.5
    • TOEIC: ≥510
    • Exemption: Applicants from English-speaking countries or programs taught in English (with official confirmation letter).

Master’s Program

  • Age: Maximum 30 years old.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (in English or Bahasa Indonesia). Master’s degree holders are not eligible.
  • English Proficiency (within the last 2 years):
    • TOEFL ITP: ≥500
    • TOEFL IBT: ≥61
    • IELTS: ≥6.0
    • TOEIC: ≥575
    • Exemption: Applicants from English-speaking countries or programs taught in English (with official confirmation letter).
  • Citizenship: Valid passport (minimum 18 months validity).
  • Recommendation Letters: One from an employer/supervisor (if employed) and one academic letter (in English or Bahasa Indonesia).
  • Visa Deposit: IDR 7,000,000 (refunded for Fully Funded recipients; required for Partially Funded/Self-Funded).

Doctoral Program

  • Age: Maximum 35 years old.
  • Education: Master’s degree (in English or Bahasa Indonesia). Doctoral degree holders are not eligible.
  • English Proficiency (within the last 2 years):
    • TOEFL ITP: ≥530
    • TOEFL IBT: ≥71
    • IELTS: ≥6.0
    • TOEIC: ≥640
    • Exemption: Applicants from English-speaking countries or programs taught in English (with official confirmation letter).
  • Citizenship: Valid passport (minimum 18 months validity).
  • Recommendation Letters: One from an employer/supervisor (if employed), one academic letter, and one from a potential UMS research supervisor (in English or Bahasa Indonesia).
  • Statement of Purpose: Explain study goals, interest in Indonesia, and dissertation proposal (in English or Bahasa Indonesia).
  • Visa Deposit: IDR 7,000,000 (refunded for Fully Funded recipients; required for Partially Funded/Self-Funded).
