Research Training Program International (RTPI) Scholarship at UNSW Sydney

Applications are open for Research Training Program International (RTPI) Scholarship at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney to fund your Master’s or PhD research degree. Eligibility Criteria

  • You must be an international student (not an Australian citizen or permanent resident) at the time of application.
  • You must have applied for or be enrolled in a full-time Master by Research, Master of Philosophy, or PhD program at UNSW Sydney.
  • You must provide evidence of meeting UNSW’s minimum English language requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent). Ensure your testing authority allows UNSW to verify your results.
  • All international applicants must complete a Financial Declaration Form and, if required, provide evidence of your ability to cover any additional living costs or fees.

How to Apply?

Applying for the RTPI Scholarship is straightforward and integrated with your UNSW admission process. Follow these steps:

  1. Determine Your Eligibility: Visit Higher Degree Research and click on the link for your preferred program to view the eligibility criteria
  2. Find a Supervisor: Search for supervisors and research projects in your area. 
  3. Prepare Your Documents: Gather your academic transcripts, English test results, research proposal, CV, and any other required supporting documents.
  4. Apply for Admission: Submit your application for a Higher Degree Research program through the https://applyonline.unsw.edu.au/login.
  5. Apply for the Scholarship: During your admission application, indicate that you wish to be considered for a UNSW scholarship and select your preferred scholarship application round. No separate scholarship application is required—you’ll automatically be considered for all eligible scholarships, including the RTPI.

Application Deadlines

UNSW offers three scholarship rounds each year. For the 2025–2026 intake, the key deadline for Term 2 is:

  • 5 September 2025: For commencement in Term 2, 2025.
