Eligibility Criteria

  • PhD degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Practical and direct experience in experimental research in metals processing or metallurgical engineering.
  • Journal and conference publications on prior research.
  • Ability to develop original concepts and creative solutions building upon existing ideas.
  • Capability to set up a methodology, planning, milestones, and workplan to achieve goals.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a cognate discipline.
  • 2-3 years of research experience in process metallurgy, materials processing, and/or advanced manufacturing.
  • Experience in process simulation using computational methods.
  • Experience in metal additive manufacturing.
  • Experience in process automation.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaborative research, including collaborations with industry and device design and manufacture.
  • Practical laboratory skills, including adherence to relevant health and safety protocols.
