Fully Funded PhD Scholarships in Taiwan 2026

The Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) is a fully funded PhD program jointly organized by Academia Sinica and top Taiwanese research universities. • Entry Semester: Fall 2026 (September entry)
• Key Note: Applicants can apply to only ONE TIGP sub-program.
• Eligibility: International students with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; open to applicants from all countries
• Funding: Fully funded – includes a monthly stipend of NT$40,000 (about US$1,250) for the first year, extendable based on performance; tuition waiver/subsidy; continued support often provided by thesis advisors

1. East Asia and the Making of the Modern World

Focus: Interdisciplinary program integrating history, literature, and philosophy with emphasis on Taiwan Studies, Chinese Studies, and East Asian perspectives on modernity.

2. Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics

Focus: Advanced research in chemical biology and biophysical techniques.

3. Molecular and Biological Agricultural Sciences (MBAS)

Focus: Cutting-edge research in agricultural biotechnology.
