Key Responsibilities

As a Nuffield Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will:

  • Conduct high-quality research suitable for publication in leading economics journals.
  • Develop and manage your own research agenda.
  • Present your work at international conferences and research workshops.
  • Participate in the intellectual life of the Department of Economics and Nuffield College, including:
    • Collaborating with colleagues on shared research interests.
    • Attending and potentially organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Teach up to 60 units of graduate or undergraduate courses per year (e.g., 20 hours of graduate lecturing or 15 hours of graduate class teaching).
  • Contribute to administrative tasks related to teaching and research.
  • Act as a mentor for graduate students and represent postdoctoral fellows on Nuffield College committees, as appropriate.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, candidates should have:

  • A PhD in Economics or a related field (completed or near completion).
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to their career stage.
