Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship 2026

Applications are now open for the Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship 2026. This is a fully funded six-month residential research fellowship in Singapore. It offers researchers the opportunity to work with valuable historical collections at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library and the National Archives of Singapore.

  • For overseas fellows:
    • One-time relocation allowance of S$1,500
    • Monthly accommodation allowance of up to S$3,500
    • One-time return economy class air ticket reimbursement of up to S$1,500

In addition, you will gain valuable experience by conducting original research, building your academic profile, presenting your work to the public, and contributing to Singapore’s cultural heritage.

Eligibility Criteria:

You can apply if you are:

  • A curator, historian, academic, or independent researcher with a good record of achievement in your field
  • Pursuing doctoral, postdoctoral, or advanced research
  • Able to propose a research topic that uses the collections of the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library and National Archives of Singapore
  • Willing to live in Singapore for the full six months and spend at least 75% of your working time at the library
  • Strong research skills and clear understanding of your proposed topic are important.
