IFAD Paid Internship Programme

Applications are now open for the IFAD Paid Internship Programme. This is a great chance for young students and recent graduates to work with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a United Nations agency that helps end rural poverty and hunger by supporting farming and rural people. The internship lasts six months (with a possible extra six months). It is paid — you get a monthly allowance. Interns from developing countries who travel to the duty station get extra money for housing and travel. There is no application fee. It is open to people from all nationalities. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be 30 years old or younger.
  • Be currently enrolled in a university or graduate school (completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies and attended courses in the last 12–24 months), or have finished undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the last 12–24 months.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic, French, or Spanish is helpful (may be needed for some offices).
  • For some locations (country offices), you may need the local language.
