This scholarship supports first-time participants to attend the full European Forum Alpbach event, held from 24 August to 4 September 2026.

It covers core costs like the participation fee and accommodation, with optional additional support for travel, food, or special needs based on solidarity funds and demonstrated need. There is no application fee. The program is open to applicants from all nationalities and disciplines, including students, young professionals, artists, and non-graduates. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a first-time scholarship holder (no prior onsite EFA scholarship; virtual 2020/2021 is fine).
  • Demonstrate fluent English (B2 minimum per CEFR, with accepted proofs like certificates, degrees in English, or native passport from majority English-speaking countries).
  • Be aged 18–30 (or up to 35 for Global South citizens) at the forum time.
  • Commit to full attendance for the entire duration (24 August – 4 September 2026).
  • Submit your most recent academic/professional record (e.g., transcript, diploma, or employment proof).
  • Apply as a student, young professional, changemaker, artist, or non-graduate from any discipline.
  • Applicants from any background are welcome, as the focus is on impact and active citizenship.

    • If you have regional ties (nationality/residency) to a FAN club with its own process (e.g., CA Poland, CA Tirol, CA Wien, etc.), apply via that club — check their websites for details.
    • Otherwise, apply directly via the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) online platform (international applicants).
    • Special case: Nationals/permanent residents of ROC Taiwan apply via Lung Yingtai Cultural Foundation.
  2. Prepare documents:
    • Proof of English B2 level (certificate, degree proof, passport, etc.).
