Who Can Apply?
The fellowships are designed for outstanding early-career researchers. Hereās who is eligible:
- Academic Background: Open to graduates from any university, regardless of nationality.
- Career Stage:
- Ph.D. candidates in the latter stages of their research and close to submitting their thesis.
- Post-doctoral researchers who submitted their Ph.D. thesis on or after 1st October 2024.

Application Process
To apply, follow these steps carefully to ensure your application is complete and submitted on time.
1. Register Online

2. Submit Your Application
- Required Materials:
- Statement of Research (two parts, 500 words each):
- Referee Details: Provide contact information for two referees familiar with your work (one should typically be your Ph.D. or current supervisor).
3. Written Work Submission
- General Subjects:
- Written work is not required at the initial application stage.
- If long-listed (notified by 11th November 2025), youāll need to submit up to 20,000 words (including footnotes) electronically by 17th November 2025.
- Ensure your contact details (email, mobile, or phone) are up to date for notifications.
- Philosophy and Theology:
- Submit up to 40,000 words electronically by the application deadline (26th September 2025).
- If long-listed, youāll be asked to select up to 20,000 words from the initial submission for further assessment.
- Language Requirement: All submitted work must be in English.

4. Additional Requirements (if Long-Listed)
- Head of Department Statement: Long-listed candidates may need to provide a statement from their prospective Head of Department or host laboratory, confirming support for your fellowship (e.g., space, funding, facilities). This must be emailed to [email protected] by 15th December 2025.
- Interviews: Final short-listed candidates will be interviewed on 16th January 2026.
Fellowship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive the following:
- Stipend:
- Post-doctoral Fellows: £38,555 per year
- Pre-doctoral Fellows: £36,804 per year
- Pre-doctoral fellows are responsible for University fees up to the UK postgraduate student level; the College will cover the difference if a higher fee applies.
