The Einstein Fellowship in Germany (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the Einstein Fellowship 2027, awarded by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation in Germany. This prestigious fellowship supports outstanding young thinkers under 35 years old who want to pursue an original, interdisciplinary project significantly different from their previous research work — inspired by Albert Einstein’s own broad curiosity.

It is open to candidates from all nationalities with a university degree in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Under 35 years old at the time of application
  • Hold a university degree in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences
  • Propose a project that is significantly different in content (and preferably field/form) from previous work — not a continuation of theses, dissertations, ongoing studies, or published research
  • Demonstrate superior intellectual development, originality, quality, and feasibility of the proposed project
  • No PhD required (or in progress); open regardless of current academic status
  • Applications must be in English

Strict note: No fellowships for dissertation/thesis research or completing started academic studies.
