Czech Republic Government Scholarships for International Students 2026/27

Applications are now open for the Czech Republic Government Scholarships for the academic year 2026/2027. These fully funded scholarships support international students from select developing countries to pursue higher education at public universities in the Czech Republic.

The scholarships cover Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in various fields, offered in Czech or English. Eligible applicants from 12 specified countries can apply by the deadline of September 30, 2025.   • Study Programs:
    • Bachelor’s (3–4 years, in Czech, for Georgia applicants only, includes 1-year Czech language course).
    • Follow-up Master’s (2 years, in Czech or English).
    • Doctoral (3–4 years, in English).
  • Funding: Fully funded, covering stipend, tuition and living expenses for the standard program duration.
  • Application Deadline: September 30, 2025.
  • Application Fee: None.

Available Study Programs

Programs in Czech Language

  • Bachelor’s Programs (3–4 years): Available only for applicants from Georgia. Includes a one-year Czech language preparatory course.
  • Follow-up Master’s Programs (2 years): Available for applicants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Includes a one-year Czech language preparatory course.
  • Entrance Exams: Applicants must pass university-specific entrance examinations.

Programs in English Language

  • Follow-up Master’s Programs (2 years): Available for applicants from all eligible countries.
  • Doctoral Programs (3–4 years): Available for applicants from all eligible countries.
  • English Language Test: Applicants must pass an online English language test during the application process.

Note: Doctoral programs in the Czech language are not currently offered under this scholarship.

  • Interdisciplinary programs and qualifications, including health and social care, provide care for favorable living conditions.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Programs: Completion of secondary education equivalent to a Czech school-leaving examination.
  • Follow-up Master’s Programs: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Doctoral Programs: Completion of a Master’s degree.
  • Restriction: Applicants who have already completed a Master’s degree cannot apply for a scholarship for another Bachelor’s or Master’s program.

Note: Citizens of the Czech Republic, the European Union, or foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic are not eligible.

Financial Benefits

  • Scholarship Amount:
    • CZK 16,000 per month for Bachelor’s and Follow-up Master’s students.
    • CZK 17,000 per month for Doctoral students.
  • Covers tuition and living expenses (accommodation, food, and public transport)
  • Travel Expenses: Costs for travel to and from the Czech Republic are not covered and must be paid by the student or their nominating party.
  • Non-Standard Healthcare: Any health services beyond standard care must be covered by the scholarship holder.

  1. Complete the Online Application: Submit the electronic application form by September 30, 2025, via http://registr.dzs.cz/registr.nsf.
  2. Required Tests:
    • For English-taught programs: Pass an online English language test and a general knowledge test.
    • For Czech-taught programs: Pass a general knowledge test.
