Scholarship Overview
The AGS funds up to four years of PhD or EngD studies at leading Singaporean universities. Scholars engage in impactful research projects at ASTAR Research Institutes and have the chance to participate in an overseas attachment for up to 12 months. After completing their studies, scholars can apply for the *ASTAR International Fellowship (AIF)* to pursue post-doctoral training at top global institutions, expanding their expertise and network.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the AGS, you must meet the following requirements:
- Open to Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans who have completed or are on track to complete a degree at a Singapore autonomous university.
- Obtain or be on track to achieve at least a 2nd Upper Class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Applicants in their final semester of undergraduate studies are eligible, but the scholarship is awarded only upon meeting A*STAR’s academic requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in a research career.

For Mid-Term AGS Applicants:
- Must be enrolled in a Singapore autonomous university and have completed at least 1 semester at the time of application.
- Show excellent academic standing and research potential.
- Provide at least one academic referee who is your current university supervisor.

Research Areas
AGS supports research in four broad categories under the PhD program:
- Biomedical Research Council
- Science and Engineering Research Council
- A*STAR Infectious Diseases Lab (e.g., AMR, Diagnostics, Drug Discovery, Vaccines, Virology)
- A*STAR Horizontal Programme Offices (HTPO) – Urban and GreenTech (UGT) (e.g., Carbon Capture, Green Chemistry, Hydrogen Technology)
- Centre for Frontier AI Research (CFAR) (focus on next-generation AI technologies)

Service Commitment
- Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents: No service commitment.
- Non-Singaporeans: A 3-year service commitment in Singapore-based companies (registered with ACRA) in fields like Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Engineering.

- Shortlisted candidates undergo two rounds of interviews. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
- Notification of Results:
