The Asia-Europe Training and Youth Summit on Science and Technology Diplomacy 2025 offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of science diplomacy, connect with global peers, and shape the future of Asia-Europe cooperation.

This initiative, part of the Asia-Europe Science & Technology Diplomacy Initiative for Young Leaders, combines a 7-week online training with an in-person Youth Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark. It’s designed to equip young professionals with the skills and networks needed to excel in science and technology diplomacy.

Program Structure

1. Online Training: Science and Technology Diplomacy

  • When: 23 October – 4 December 2025
  • Format: Online via Zoom
  • Schedule: 2 sessions per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00–9:30 AM UTC, ~3 hours/week)
  • Details:
    • 7-week interactive training for ~100 young professionals.
    • Features webinars and hands-on workshops led by experts.
    • Focuses on building practical skills and fostering cross-regional connections.

2. Youth Summit: Copenhagen, Denmark

  • When: 15–18 December 2025
  • Where: Copenhagen, Denmark (hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark)
  • Details:
    • Selected participants from the online training will attend the in-person Youth Summit, held alongside the 2nd European Science Diplomacy Conference during the Danish EU Presidency.
    • Youth delegates will present a Declaration on Youth Perspectives on Asia-Europe Cooperation in Science Diplomacy, influencing high-level discussions.
    • Organized in partnership with the Central European Scientific Society of Innovation and Technology (CESSIT).

Who Can Apply?

  • Citizens of eligible Asian or European countries (up to 35 years old).
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) and the official language of their country.
  • Professionals working as:
    • Civil Society: Research or Science Managers in tertiary education, research organizations, or professional bodies focused on international science, technology, and innovation.
    • Government: Diplomats or Government Officials engaged in international collaboration or science and technology diplomacy.

  • Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
