Czech Government Scholarships for MS & PhD 2027

Program Duration:

Czech Language Programs

• Czech language and preparatory studies: 1 year
• Follow-up Master’s program: 2–3 years

English Language Programs

• Follow-up Master’s program: 2 years
• Doctoral (PhD) program: 3–4 years

Scholarship Benefits:

Financial Support

• Tuition fees are fully covered by the Czech government
• Follow-up Master’s: CZK 16,000 per month
• Doctoral (PhD): CZK 24,960 per month

Coverage Included

• One-year Czech language and preparatory course is fully funded for Czech-taught programs
• Scholarship covers the standard duration of your selected study program
• Standard health services are covered (excluding pregnancy and some additional treatments)
• Initial medical examination upon arrival is covered if urgent care is needed within the first 60 days
• No application fee or participation fee required

Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree graduates can apply for Follow-up Master’s Programs (Czech-taught) with a one-year preparatory course in the Czech language
• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree holders can apply for Follow-up Master’s programs or Doctoral programs (English-taught)
• Entrance test is required by the university
• Specific language proficiency is required

• Motivation letter (1 A4 page)
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) focused on education and work experience
• Copy of your passport (if issued)
• Signed Declaration of Acceptance of Scholarship Terms
• Signed Declaration on Health Services
• Signed Affirmation to Return to the Country of Origin
• Legalised birth certificate with certified Czech translation
• Medical certificate (issued no more than 2 months prior to application)
• Legalised Bachelor’s degree/diploma and Diploma Supplement or equivalent, with official authentication and certified Czech translation
• Academic transcript listing all subjects, examinations, and grades (where applicable)
• Additional documentation regarding completed university education (where required by your chosen university)

PhD

• Motivation letter (2 A4 pages)
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Copy of your passport (if issued)
• Signed Declaration of Acceptance of Scholarship Terms
• Signed Declaration on Health Services
• Signed Affirmation to Return to the Country of Origin
• Legalised birth certificate with certified Czech translation

• Legalised Master’s diploma and Diploma Supplement or equivalent, with official authentication and certified Czech translation
• Complete academic records (where applicable)
• Overview of your academic publications
• Detailed dissertation thesis proposal or research focus (3–5 pages)
• Two recommendation letters from academic professors
• Additional documentation demonstrating academic or scientific achievements (if applicable)

How to Apply:

• Visit the official Czech Government scholarship website and access the online application portal
• Complete the online application form using Roman alphabet characters, or English/Czech language if needed
• Enter your assigned application identification number in the designated field
• Upload a clear photograph in the specified format and location
• Fill out all required fields carefully and completely
• Write and upload your motivation letter explaining your interest in the specific degree program
• Review your entire application thoroughly for accuracy and completeness
• Print your completed application form and sign it
• Mail your signed printed copy to the Government of the Czech Republic with all supporting documents
