Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be currently studying or working outside Canada.
• Open to any citizenship.
• Doctoral nominees: Eligible to enroll/start a PhD program at the nominating institution (typically September 2026 or January 2027 onward).
• Postdoctoral nominees: Hold (or soon complete) a PhD/health professional degree; eligible to start postdoctoral research before March 31, 2027.
• Research proposal must align with one of the eight priority areas.

1. Identify and contact potential supervisors (nominators) at eligible Canadian universities/institutions in your field. Look for faculty with active Tri-Agency grants whose research matches a priority area.
2. Express strong interest in the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards; share your CV, research interests, and how you fit eligibility/priorities.
3. If selected, the supervisor/institution nominates you.
4. Provide required documents to the institution.
5. The institution submits the full nomination package to the relevant agency by the deadline.
6. Agencies review for eligibility; results announced around April 2026 for Phase 1.
