Global Excellence Scholarship for BS, MS and PhD 2026

Applications are now open for the University of Western Australia (UWA) Global Excellence Scholarship 2026, a prestigious merit-based award for high-achieving international students commencing studies in 2026. This scholarship is available for a wide range of eligible undergraduate (Bachelor’s) and postgraduate coursework programs (Master’s, Graduate Diploma, etc.) across various fields, including sciences, engineering, business, health, arts, and more (exclusions apply to certain professional degrees like Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Juris Doctor).

It is partially funded, offering tuition fee discounts of up to AUD $48,000 over 3-4 years for undergraduates or up to AUD $24,000 over 2 years for postgraduates, depending on your academic performance (ATAR/WAM equivalent). There is no separate scholarship application required, and no application fee for the scholarship. However, direct international course applications to UWA incur a non-refundable AUD $150 processing fee.

Eligibility Criteria

Students from all countries (except Australia and New Zealand, as it’s for international students) are eligible. You must:

  • Be an international student (on a student visa subclass 500 or equivalent with study rights).
  • Have received an offer for an eligible UWA course starting in 2026.
  • Meet the minimum academic requirements:
    • Undergraduate: Equivalent ATAR of 85.00+.
    • Postgraduate: Equivalent WAM of 65.00+.
    • Via Approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program): WAM equivalent of 75.00+.

Application Process

  1. Apply for an eligible UWA course (Find the Link Below)
  2. Submit your academic transcripts.
  3. UWA Admissions will automatically assess your eligibility based on your ATAR/WAM.
  4. If eligible, the scholarship will be included in your offer letter.
  5. Accept the offer within 30 days.

No separate scholarship application is required. For offshore study (if permitted by Australian government), visa requirements may vary.
