Eligibility Criteria
- Have been awarded a PhD on or after January 1, 2022, or have a PhD award date equivalent to January 1, 2022, when factoring in allowable career interruptions (e.g., parental leave, medical leave, or other significant disruptions).

Funding Details
- Salary Support: Up to 3 years of funding. For international fellows, the third year is subject to visa requirements.
- Research Grant: A one-time $15,000 grant for direct research costs, including consumables, specialized computers, equipment, resources, and travel (if permitted).

Step 2: Identify a Supervisor
Contact a faculty, school, institute, or center aligned with your research interests to identify a proposed supervisor. Visit the Faculty, School, Institute, and Centre Contacts page for details. You will need to obtain a Supervisor Support Statement from your proposed supervisor, confirming their agreement to host your fellowship.

Step 3: Prepare Supporting Documents
Prepare and upload the following documents via the online application form:
- Top 5 Publications: List your top 5 publications, monographs, non-traditional research outputs (NTROs), or patents from the last 5 years.
- Supervisor Support Statement: Your proposed supervisor must complete and sign this form, commenting on your research proposal and how they will support you.
- Summary of Experience and Contributions: A one-page document outlining your key research contributions, expertise, supervisory experience, and career aspirations. Adhere to the formatting guidelines.
- Full Research Project Proposal: A maximum of five A4 pages detailing your project’s aims, background, significance, methodology, anticipated outcomes, and alignment with Deakin’s research strengths. Follow the formatting guidelines and develop this with your supervisor.
- Curriculum Vitae and Publication List: A single PDF (max 8 pages) listing your CV and publications.
- Evidence of PhD Conferral: Provide your official PhD testamur (not transcript) or a letter from your institution confirming PhD completion by December 31, 2025.
- Career Interruptions (if applicable): Submit a Statutory Declaration (or equivalent in English) and the career interruption calculator to document any interruptions impacting your eligibility.
